Episode 1 - Rodrigo Sanchez-Chavarria

Terry is joined by the great Rodrigo Sanchez-Chavarria for the debut episode of With the Call. Rodrigo is a writer of Peruvian heritage and is heavily involved with Palabristas, a Minnesota-based Latinx poets collective. He is a graduate of the department of Chicano and Latino studies at the University of Minnesota, and of the MFA in creative writing program at Hamline University, and is a co-host of the 551 Podcast covering Minnesota United FC. They talk a lot of soccer, the return of MLS & NWSL, writing during COVID, and Rodrigo wraps it up with a brilliant reading of his fan-favorite Street Fighter 4 poem, ‘Open Letter to El Fuerte.’
