Episode 6 - Geoff Herbach & Meghan Maloney-Vinz

With the Call is back with a very special episode. With a border battle between the embattled Minnesota Vikings and the division-leading Green Bay Packers looming, Terry decides to bring a couple Packer fans on the show.

Under Review managing editor Meghan Maloney-Vinz makes her With the Call debut to discuss many things, but mainly to give Terry shit about Kirk Cousins. Meghan was a distinguished multi-sport athlete from a small Wisconsin town. When glory days gave way to reality, she traded her cleats, ball, and racket, for poetry and parenting. Since receiving her MFA from Hamline University in 2007, she has managed several literary journals including Water~Stone, and Runestone Review(s) and a small book arts press (broadcraft press). Though her writing muscles need daily coaxing, her spiral is still pretty solid, even on demand.

We’re also joined by friend, novelist, and Issue 1 contributor Geoff Herbach. Geoff is the MN Book Award winning author of the Stupid Fast series, The Miracle Letters of T. Rimberg, Hooper, and his latest novel Cracking the Bell. He also teaches in the creative writing program at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

We chat with Geoff about his books, his writing process, how football helped him during his childhood, we talk about this particular bananas football season, his undying love for Brett Favre and much, much more.
